Directories & Files

Suggested base directories for installing Giggle are

/usr/local
the default

giggle
where giggle is the home directory of the Giggle administrator; I recommend ``giggle'' as the user name

$HOME
where $HOME is your home directory.

These three suggestions correspond to the argument for the --prefix command line option for ``./configure''. For example, to install Giggle in your home directory, you would run ``./configure --prefix=$HOME''.

Within the base directory, Giggle will make use of

lib
to hold libcybertiggyr-giggle-m.n.a

include/CyberTiggyr/giggle/
to hold the header files that software which uses Giggle will #include

man/man1
to hold the Giggle quick-reference man page

share/doc/giggle
to hold the complete Giggle documentation in HTML form8.3
